CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: **
Tap Fundamentals: This class will focus on the fundamental elements of Broadway style tap dancing. Students will learn how to execute basic tap steps, while focusing on correct execution, style, and clarity of sound. Students with past tap dance experience will be encouraged to work at their current level of mastery to refine and build upon their skills. This class is a continuation of the spring class, but new students are welcome.
Musical Theater Fundamentals: This class will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with Broadway style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. This class is a continuation of the spring class, but new students are welcome.
TUITION:
One Class: $60
Two Classes: $110
Minimum Enrollment: 8 students Maximum Enrollment: 12 students
** PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: students who participate in the Summer Youth Classes are eligible to be cast members in our Dreams of Broadway Cabaret show on August 18th. Participation is based on enrollment in summer classes, and the student's availability to participate in the weekly rehearsals. If your child is interested in participating in the Dreams of Broadway production, please indicate on the enrollment form, and we will provide additional information about the rehearsal schedule for the production.
