Dance skills are especially important for the teen/college ensemble members.
Those auditioning are asked to come prepared to sing 32 bars of music in the style of the show that will best display their vocal ability. An accompanist will be provided. A CD may also be used for accompaniment. However, there should be no background vocals on the accompaniment track. Additionally, those auditioning will be asked to read from the script during the audition. Sides will be posted 3-4 weeks prior to the auditions. The audition form will be available at the top of this page 3-4 weeks prior to the auditions. Please bring a completed audition form to the audition. You may attach a resume to the form. About The Musical:
Book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson; story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey
One of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time! When lovable, smooth-talking Harold Hill comes marching into town, you know there’s going to be trouble in River City. He promises to teach the town’s children how to play in a magnificent marching band as part of a big con, but falling in love with Marian the Librarian wasn’t part of the deal. When Marian tries to expose him as a swindler, Hill sets out to win her heart and save his hide. Will the town get wise to Hill or will Marian make an honest man out of him? This wonderful slice of Americana will leave your entire family humming such all-time favorites as “Ya Got Trouble”, “Shipoopi”, “Goodnight Ladies”, “Gary, Indiana,” “Til There Was You”, and the show-stopping ”Seventy-Six Trombones”. Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
