Audition Information:

Actors of all ages are urged to audition for this production. This production requires a large cast, spanning many age ranges. We will be casting a child, teen/college and adult ensemble in addition to the named roles. We will be casting both singers and/or dancers in the ensemble. While the ability to both sing and dance would be great, please consider auditioning if just singing or dancing is your strength! Dance skills are especially important for the teen/college ensemble members.

Those auditioning are asked to come prepared to sing 32 bars of music in the style of the show that will best display their vocal ability. An accompanist will be provided.  A CD may also be used for accompaniment.  However, there should be no background vocals on the accompaniment track.  Additionally, those auditioning will be asked to read from the script during the audition.  Sides will be posted 3-4 weeks prior to the auditions.  The audition form will be available at the top of this page 3-4 weeks prior to the auditions.  Please bring a completed audition form to the audition.  You may attach a resume to the form.  Also, if you do not have a headshot available, we will take your photo at the audition.

Auditions will consist of:

Vocal Music (Bring sheet music). Children may sing Happy Birthday or prepare a song. We will check vocal range for all ages who are auditioning.
Choreography (Wear comfortable clothes/shoes, bring jazz shoes, if you have them)
Readings: sides will be posted 2 weeks prior to auditions.

All rehearsal dates will be available at the auditions so you may note conflicts.
About The Musical:

Book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson; story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey

One of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time! When lovable, smooth-talking Harold Hill comes marching into town, you know there’s going to be trouble in River City. He promises to teach the town’s children how to play in a magnificent marching band as part of a big con, but falling in love with Marian the Librarian wasn’t part of the deal. When Marian tries to expose him as a swindler, Hill sets out to win her heart and save his hide. Will the town get wise to Hill or will Marian make an honest man out of him? This wonderful slice of Americana will leave your entire family humming such all-time favorites as “Ya Got Trouble”, “Shipoopi”, “Goodnight Ladies”, “Gary, Indiana,” “Til There Was You”, and the show-stopping ”Seventy-Six Trombones”. Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
